Definition

The proportion of women between the ages of 30–49 screened for cervical cancer at least once, or more often, and for lower or higher age groups according to national programs or policies using any of the following methods: Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid/vinegar (VIA), pap smear, and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) test

Calculation

Numerator: total number of women, in the age group specified in the national screening policy (which may vary among countries), who receive a screening test, within the time period specified by the national policy
Denominator: total number of women in that age group responding in the survey
